Hatched

My chickens have hatched. The peonies are growing directly below our front window. When the windows are open the sweet perfume blows in with the breeze through the house. I did my best to photograph these to give some sense of scale, but you just can't appreciate how big and full they are from the photos. The flowers are double blooming, and are almost a sphere when fully bloomed. They are about the size of a softball. I've cut some to bring inside.

Periwinkles growing among the nasturtiums.

Bi-color lilacs. Chris and the kids gave me this plant for Mother's Day years ago and it just keeps getting better.

Your peony is so beautiful! Once again, I am jealous of your little Eden. Come look at my peonies...the neighbors cat got to them. Not a pretty sight. Argh.

I love the lilac - it's amazing that your tree is just now in bloom and ours bloomed in later April. Your bi-color one is stunning. I really would love for you to do my landscaping one day ;-)
